Broken Social Scene x Years

"Day of the Kid"

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 23, 2013

Today we heard a track from Arts & Crafts' collaborations album, X, in the form of the Hidden Cameras' team-up with Snowblink. Now, here's another, as Broken Social Scene and Years' "Day of the Kid" has hit the web.

The song is quietly cinematic, and over the course of six minutes it ascends from soft horn swells to whispered post-rock to a crescendo that lifts the mood without ever quite providing catharsis. This ornate style will doubtless sound familiar to fans of Broken Social Scene and Years (aka Ohad Benchetrit of Do Make Say Think).

X is out on May 28.
