Broken Social Scene Offshoot Leisure Cruise Sign to Last Gang for Debut Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 12, 2014

Dave Hodge has been involved in Broken Social Scene over the years, but with the collective's members moving on to other projects, he has now launched a new band of his own. Leisure Cruise is his collaboration with Firehorse leader Leah Siegel, and they have signed to Last Gang Records for the May 6 release of their self-titled debut.

Hodge and Siegel first met a few years back when they worked on a piece of TV music together, but they lost touch until bumping into one another in a New York cafe in the wake of 2012's Hurricane Sandy. Hodge asked Siegel if she'd like to write together, and this led to the 11 songs on Leisure Cruise.

The tracklist is below and the futuristically butt-filled album cover is above. Scroll to the bottom of the page stream the cinematic track "Sailing," which a press release accurately describes as a "soaring journey of punchy synths and '80s-inspried intergalactic vocals."

Leisure Cruise:

4. Earthquake
5. Living It Up
6. Human Relocation Program
