Broken Social Scene Get Charitable For Upcoming Toronto Shows

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Nov 19, 2008

The many folks of Broken Social Scene are baring their charitable hearts these coming holidays and asking that fans do the same. At the band’s two upcoming Toronto shows on November 27 and 28, they will be setting up a food drive initiative and are encouraging concertgoers to bring a non-perishable food item or two, which will be donated to the food bank Daily Bread.

And not only are BSS helping to contribute to a good cause, they are also expanding their winter tour itinerary. Among those new dates added is one that finds the group playing Vancouver on February 6 alongside fellow Canadians Tegan and Sara, all of whom will be preforming as part of the city’s 2010 Cultural Olympiad.

If you’d like to go to that show, or any other one, right now the band are holding a contest and giving away a pair of free tickets for each of their upcoming concerts. You can enter here. Or if you prefer to experience BSS in the comforts of your own home, drummer Justin Peroff also has a new photo blog running over here that you can check out.
