Broken Social Scene Announce Full-Day Concert On Toronto's Olympic Island in July
Every summer in Toronto a big name act curates a full day concert that causes the masses to wait for hours for a ferry from the mainland over to Olympic Island. Last year saw Death Cab For Cutie headline a summer of affable pop, while the likes of Sloan, Modest Mouse and Broken Social Scene have all been on stage to end the day's festivities. Well, it appears Broken Social Scene are set to return for their third stint (they organized 2005's Modest Mouse event), once again as headliners, with yet another impressive list of supporting acts.

Set for July 11, the rain or shine all-day event promises plenty of uppers and downers with sets by BSS along with Explosions in the Sky, Thunderheist, Beach House, Apostle of Hustle and Rattlesnake Choir.

Starting today, until Thursday (April 16), Edge 102.1 FM will put 1,021 tickets on sale for the reduced price of $39.50 (including GST and ferry trip), while the Arts & Craft Gallery will be selling tickets at the regular price of $57.50 (including GST and ferry trip) but will be throwing in a special bonus: a pre-sale, limited edition digital sampler that features one song from each performing artist.

Tickets for the general public will go on sale this coming Friday (April 17) via the usual outlets (Ticketmaster, Horseshoe Tavern, Soundscapes, Rotate This) at 10:00 a.m.
