Brody Dalle Sets Release Date for Solo Debut 'Diploid Love'

A week after Brody Dalle gave us the first official taste of her impending solo debut, the punky artist has now revealed an album title and official due date for the set. Her Diploid Love drops April 28 through Universal's Caroline imprint.

A tracklisting for Diploid Love has not yet been confirmed, but it's safe to say that it will include the recently premiered "Meet the Foetus"/"Oh the Joy." As previously reported, the album had Dalle co-handling production duties with Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys) and also features guest appearances from the likes of Garbage's Shirley Manson, the Strokes' Nick Valensi, Warpaint's Emily Kokal, Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age) and drummer Hayden Scott (AWOLNATION), among others.

"I've always had a hand in crafting how it's going to sound and hearing it and trying to make that happen. But it's the first time I've put my name on something for production," Dalle had said in a statement.

Apparently a new music video is also on the way, with Dalle sending out a photo of herself and Manson over on Instagram last week saying just as much. Presumably this would be for "Meet the Foetus"/"Oh the Joy," on which Manson sings back-ups. You can check out the audio for the single down below.

While Diploid Love is Dalle's first solo album, she issued her Spinnerette project's debut LP in 2009 and produced a trio of albums with the Distillers between 2000 and 2003.
