Bring Me the Horizon's Oli Sykes Attacked Onstage in Salt Lake City

While Bring Me the Horizon's current North American tour has no doubt seen the British metalcore unit wrecking crowds via their aggro tunes, the tables were regrettably turned last night (October 3) when singer Oliver "Oli" Sykes was attacked by concertgoers at a gig in Salt Lake City.

The altercation occurred during the band's headlining set at In the Venue after patrons began hurling objects at group. As you can see in some fan-filmed videos down below [via Blabbermouth], Sykes began splashing water on the crowd and hurled insults at the hooligans in the throng.

"If you don't like our fucking band, then go home. Get the fuck out of here," he chided.

Moments later, an attendee rushed the stage and clocked the singer, knocking him down. From there, a swarm of supporters and dissenters surrounded Sykes, with some protecting him and others trying to get in a couple of kicks. Security soon diffused the situation, but the band took a breather before reportedly returning to the stage a half hour later.

Sykes wasn't seriously injured in the incident.

UPDATE: Sykes has now sounded off on the attack. You can read his comments here.

Bring Me the Horizon wrap up their U.S. dates tonight (October 4) at House of Blues in Las Vegas.
