Seattle soundscaper Briana Marela has revealed that she's joined the Jagjaguwar family to deliver her next LP, All Around Us. "Surrender" is the first song to be previewed from the set, and it has the singer announcing softly but determinedly, "I'll give you all I've got."
Early on, the track has her serenading us about "the feelings I hold," with her narrative touching on happy days spent snuggling up with someone, as well as what the future holds. This is all done above a bed of chopped-up drum ticks, electronic tones, and looped and processed vocals. You can hear it all down below.
All Around Us was recorded in Iceland with producer Alex Somers (Sigur Rós). It officially hits stores August 21, right before Marela hits the road with Jenny Hval. The trip stops in Vancouver and Toronto. You'll find all of the details down below.
