Having spent the better part of this year touring in celebration of the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds, Brian Wilson has announced an additional run of dates that will keep the tour on the road through 2017.

A total of 41 new North American dates have been added to Wilson's itinerary, starting in Orlando in March and ending in Santa Barbara, CA, come May. The new dates include a short trip through Western Canada, with Wilson first playing the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver on April 8. Dates in Edmonton (April 12), Calgary (April 13) and Winnipeg (April 15) have also been announced.

We wrote that the "sunny Cali glow of yore had hardly dimmed" when Wilson brought the tour to Ottawa earlier this year. The shows see Wilson perform Pet Sounds in its entirety, along with songs from both his Beach Boys and solo catalogues. Former Beach Boys Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin are both part of the backing band, and these shows are called the "final" performances of Pet Sounds.

"There were so many cities on this great tour that myself, my band, Al, and Blondie just couldn't get to playing," Wilson said in a statement. "We're performing more shows than ever before and the fans keep asking for more! It's been a real trip so far and I'm happy that we'll have the chance to reach so many people that weren't able to catch our shows this year."

Tickets for the newly announced 2017 shows go on sale Friday (October 21) at 10 a.m. local time. You can find the complete list of tour dates, including those to round out 2016, listed below.
