The Break And Repair Method Milk The Bee

The Break And Repair Method Milk The Bee
The idea of another solo project coming from the "on hiatus" Matchbox 20 isn't the most exciting prospect but the debut release by the Break And Repair Method isn't the frightening album it might look like on paper. Milk The Bee finds the band's rhythm guitarist Paul Doucette stretching his musical legs, walking out by himself, although he does bring along a surprising number of friends for the ride, including Veruca Salt's Nina Gordon, Tracey Bonham and his wife, Moon Unit Zappa. And while there is still the underlying Matchbox 20 flavour, the songs attempt to show their individual personality. Overall, the mood is upbeat and it's the arrangements that save things from verging on blandness. In fact, Milk The Bee is full of likeable pop songs that should do just fine in a world where Matchbox 2- are platinum-selling artists. Just don't expect to be challenged or surprised. (Bluhammock)
