He doesn't look a thing like Jesus, but Brandon Flowers (eccentric fashionista front-man of Vegas rockers the Killers) announced this morning (April 29) that he is in the midst of putting together his first solo record.

As TwentyFourBit points out, a mysterious, week-long countdown on the Killers' official website ended this morning and was promptly replaced by a flashy new Brandon Flowers logo. By clicking "sign up," fans are rewarded with a pop-up announcing "THE LATEST NEWS ON BRANDON'S SOLO ALBUM."

So far, the latest news is simply that the album, titled Flamingo, is being made, but more news is sure to follow at Flowers's new solo website here. And, hey, you can check out a new Flowers jam there.

In related news, the Killers recently signed a new contract with Universal that will include further albums, as well as solo projects from the band's respective members. So far, we only know about that collaborative Ray Davies/Springsteen/Bon Jovi/Killers/Lucinda Williams album and Mt. Desolation, which includes Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci.
