Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman "Built a Choir" for Foo Fighters' New Album

He'll appear on the "the heaviest song on the entire record"

Dave Grohl has spoken about the Foo Fighters' forthcoming Concrete and Gold playing to both "hard rock extremes and pop sensibilities." The latter descriptor rings true upon learning that Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman appears on the album's title track.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Grohl revealed the collaboration came about after the band spotted Stockman walking through the parking lot of their recording studio. The bandleader invited the vocalist to lend his talents to a track, appearing on what Grohl calls "the heaviest song on the entire record."

"It sounds like Sabbath and Pink Floyd. It's heavy. It's the last song on the record," Grohl said. "He built a choir — it's like 40 vocals stacked. It's insane."

Concrete and Gold arrives September 15 via Roswell Records/RCA.
