Bowling for Soup

Drunk Enough to Dance

BY Shawn MerrillPublished Oct 1, 2002

Being on the same label as Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, and *NSYNC is a little strange, but when your credits also include tracks on the Britney Spears disaster flick Crossroads and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, you can figure out the band's immediate target audience and goal. Furthermore, when Bowling For Soup highlight the fact that they've played frequently with Blink 182 and Sum 41, it becomes blatantly obvious that the band plays generic and commercial pop in punk disguise and dream of rock superstardom. Sure, Bowling For Soup is fine if you're into hearing pseudo-obnoxious happy go lucky sing-along songs about utter tripe for the billionth time. No style, no substance and no good.
