Bowie Says Rumours of Ziggy Headlining Cochella "Poppycock!" Doesn't Twitter Either

It's been a busy couple of days for the David Bowie rumour mill. Not only did news surface that the Thin White Duke is again recording in Berlin but that he's also headlining this year's Coachella festival. Well, according to Ziggy himself, it's all "poppycock."

In a message posted on Bowie's official website, the singer further quashed rumours that he would play his 1972 glam rock classic, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, in full at Cochella, saying:

"The story goes that David Bowie was in talks to perform his Ziggy Stardust album at the festival this year, the rumour really took hold and the 'news' was reported online around the globe and in the English press.

"You may have already seen the denial over at NME.COM but I'm sure the majority of you saw this tale for what it was anyway: poppycock!

"However, we feel duty-bound to deny this particular story here too, lest members be fleeced of their hard-earned."

The message then went on to dismiss Bowie's supposed Twittering activities, which recently led to multiple news reports (such as this one) saying the star was again recording in Berlin.

"While we're about it, David Bowie does not have a Twitter account," the message reads.

Okay, no Coachella, no Berlin. But if Bowie doesn't Twitter, who's running this thing?
