Bossie

"Strawberry Moon" / "Solsbury Hill" (Peter Gabriel cover)

Toronto-based synth-popster Bossie is gearing up to release a two-track digital single at the end of the week, but Exclaim! is giving you an early listen to the new pair of tunes.

The first half of the single features original track "Strawberry Moon," which hears project mastermind Anne Douris pairing gloomy, shoegaze-y instrumentation with bubblegum pop vocals.

"I've spent a lot of time listening to other people (mostly men) tell me how I should be making music," Douris tells Exclaim! "When I'm feeling vulnerable (which is a lot of the time) those voices can get into my head and I can lose sight of what I actually want to do. This song is about telling those voices to back off."

It's backed by a cover of Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill" that finds Douris putting a shimmery spin on the 1977 classic.

The upcoming two-track single serves as a precursor to Bossie's debut album, which is expected out next year. "Strawberry Moon" / "Solsbury Hill" is due out tomorrow (December 1) via Culvert Music, but you can give both songs a listen in the player below right now.
