The Books Reissue, Remaster First Three Albums

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 30, 2010

Fans of the Books have had to be patient in recent years. When the sample-heavy duo released The Way Out earlier in 2010, it was their first LP since 2005's Lost and Safe. Now, the band are looking to make up for the lengthy break by reissuing their first three albums via their new label home, Temporary Residence.

The records will be released on CD and LP at one-month intervals, starting with debut Thought for Food (2002) on January 25. Next up will be The Lemon of Pink (2003) on February 22, followed by Lost and Safe on March 22.

According to a press release, the albums have been remastered using band member Nick Zummato's original mixes. They will be "packaged in completely new artwork and will include a book of lyrics for the first time." We'll have to wait and see if these lyric books include the many spoken word samples that riddle the albums.

The Books are currently wrapping up their North American tour and will play Vancouver on November 5 with the Black Heart Procession. In early 2011, they will tour Australia.
