Bonnie "Prince" Billy's latest album, Wolfroy Goes to Town, only came out a few months ago, but the songwriter also known as Will Oldham has already announced his next release. He has joined forces with fellow folkie Mariee Sioux, and the pair will drop a collaborative double seven-inch called Bonnie & Mariee on February 21 via Spiritual Pajamas.

According to the announcement, the project came together when label co-founder Britt Govea recruited Oldham to work with Sioux. Both artists contributed an original song and teamed up for additional covers. These were recorded to analogue tape by engineer Jonathan Wilson (Elvis Costello, Jenny Lewis).

Fan site the Royal Stable notes that the double seven-inch release will contain four songs: "Not Mocked," "Bird Child," "Loveskulls" and "Mad Mad Me."

The press release describes the music like this: "Flowering tongues, love skulls, whales trapped in ice, be thou not deceived and touch yourself a hundred times. These songs carve a place in your heart and tattoo your brain for ages to come."

According to the Royal Stable, other forthcoming Bonnie "Prince" Billy releases include an album with Trembling Bells called The Marble Downs, plus a book with Alan Licht. The Wire reports that the latter is a collection of interviews and conversations called Will Oldham On Bonnie 'Prince' Billy.
