Bonnaroo Rolls Out 2015 Lineup

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 13, 2015

If you think viral campaigns for albums are getting out of hand, wait until you read about the ridiculous trickery of Bonnaroo's lineup announcement.

The festival has given the reins of the announcement over to its fans. How it's working is that interested parties call 1-844-ROO-2015, learn one of the artist's names, then share it on social media using the #bonnaroo hashtag.

Of course, giving this much power to the public can result in disaster, and it's hard to know who's sharing legit information and who's full of shit.

As far as we can tell, the confirmed lineup so far includes Slayer, Spoon, Flying Lotus, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, Courtney Barnett, Tears for Fears, Bleachers, Robert Plant, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Against Me!, SBTRKT, Sylvan Esso, Rudimental, Gramatik, Brandi Carlile, Guster, Twenty One Pilots, Punch Brothers, Odesza, Hozier, Houndmouth, Bassnectar, and Tove Lo, among others.

UPDATE: You can also now add these name to the list: Florence and the Machine, Belle and Sebastian, Run the Jewels, Gary Clark Jr., the War on Drugs, Dawes, Mac DeMarco, Jamie xx, Strand of Oaks, Tycho, Ryn Weaver, Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, Trampled By Turtles, Shakey Graves, G-Eazy, SOJA, Glass Animals, the Growlers, Bahamas, and Pokey LaFarge.

UPDATE 2: And the lineup has now been fully announced. You can see the poster above and new additions include the following: Kendrick Lamar, My Morning Jacket, deadmau5, Mumford and Sons, Shabazz Palaces, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Pallbearer, Alabama Shakes, Atmosphere, Woods, Dej Loaf, Earth Wind & Fire, SZA, Hiss Golden Messenger, Tanya Tagaq and MØ.

The 2015 edition of Bonnaroo takes place from June 11 to 14 in Manchester, TN.
