Bonjour Brumaire

De la Nature des Foules

BY Jill LangloisPublished May 26, 2008

The four men and a lady hail from Montreal and have had considerable recognition in their hometown. Leave it up to the English-speaking world then to be slightly behind on this one. They might be produced by the guy behind fellow Francophone bands like Malajube and Les Breastfeeders but Bonjour Brumaire are far from the raucous rock and unintelligible lyrics of their language counterparts. Every song on their record is purposeful, clean and crisp pop rock, without crossing the line into square territory. And if you don’t already know it, singer/lyricist Youri Zaragoza’s perfect pronunciation might finally push you to learn our second official language. Just don’t expect your efforts to sound as polished as this album.
