Today, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver has released two songs he recorded between 2005 and 2006, "Hazelton" — which he later turned into Bon Iver's seminal "Holocene" — and "Liner." The two songs will be part of the DeYarmond Edison box set Epoch, which is slated to come out on August 18 via Jagjaguwar.

DeYarmond Edison is Veron's former band with Megafaun's Phil Cook, Brad Cook and Joe Westerlund, and Chris Porterfield of Field Report. They disbanded in 2006 but had a couple of small reunions over the years, including at 2011's SXSW and their Bruce Hornsby collaboration on Grateful Dead tribute album Day of the Dead.

Epoch is a 5LP/4CD collection including DeYarmond Edison's album Silent Signs, Vernon's solo album Hazeltons, several live recordings, other collaborative and solo recordings from DeYarmond Edison members, and more. "Hazelton" and "Liner" are the third and fourth releases from the forthcoming box set following DeYarmond Edison's "As Long as I Can Go" and Justin Vernon and Phil Cook's "Feel the Light."
