Bobby Womack Unveils New Album Produced by Damon Albarn and Richard Russell

Late last year, XL Recordings boss Richard Russell confirmed that he and Damon Albarn were co-producing a new full-length from veteran soul singer Bobby Womack. Sure enough, we've now got the confirmed details of that LP, which is called The Bravest Man in the Universe and will be out on June 12.

The album was recorded in Albarn's Studio 13 in London and Manhattan Center studios in New York. The ten songs that appear on the disc comprise Womack's first album of original material since Resurrection in 1994.

See the tracklist below, and scroll past that to hear the electro-tinged album cut "Please Forgive My Heart," which is available to stream or download. Russell previously described the album as "a very modern soul record" with hints of the Weeknd or Frank Ocean, and that's true of this song.

If you remember, this collaboration began after Albarn recruited Womack to appear on Gorrillaz' 2010 album Plastic Beach.

UPDATE: As previously hinted, Lana Del Rey will appear on the album track "Dayglo Relection," according to Pitchfork.
