Bobby Shmurda is set to be released from a New York State prison on Tuesday.

Shmurda's impending February 23 release comes after he was arrested in December 2014 on weapon and drug charges, and conspiracy to commit murder.

Days ahead of his trial in 2016, Shmurda pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon., and was sentenced to seven years in prison. Terms of the plea deal led the "Hot N****" hitmaker's previous 20 months in prison to be credited as two years time served.

Following his release, Shmurda will be on parole until 2026. On social media, the artist shared a clip of from Christopher Walken's King of New York with the caption, "How the fucc y'all forget about me."

Before his December 2014 arrest, Shmurda released debut EP Shmurda She Wrote through Epic Records, a label he claims offered him little support when he was facing jail time.
