Blur Eyeing U.S. Dates, Prepping New Best-Of

With Blur's reunion now in full swing over in the UK, the guys may be taking their Britpop nostalgia outside the borders of their home and native land. According to LiveNation UK vice-president Steve Homer (who's obviously not actually in Blur), the band are mulling over a possible trip to the U.S. for a series of shows down south, as well as some more in Europe. As well, Blur are again prepping another best-of collection, just in case you somehow didn't scoop up their first one, or haven't fished their old albums out of the used CD bin.

As far as the possible non-UK live appearances go, Homer recently told Billboard, "They have been rehearsing for some time now, for several months. There are no plans beyond T in the Park and Oxegen. They are talking about some American shows still in the same time frame. There are possibilities of some European ones as well.

"The appeal of Blur is so potentially big, with the band themselves, but also projects they have done since then and general interest in bands of that era."

He didn't mention whether Blur are eyeing any possible shows in Canada.

In regards to that new CD compilation, the career retrospective is being appropriately dubbed Midlife: A Beginner's Guide to Blur, coming out via EMI in the UK on June 15. According to the band's website, Midlife "has been designed as an introduction for those who may have missed out on Blur's prolific recording career" and will fill two discs with tracks ranging from 1991's Leisure to 2003's Think Tank.

There's no word yet if the collection might be getting a domestic North American release, but here's the tracklisting:
