Published Apr 18, 2012Okay, so Blur might be calling it quits for good after this summer, but that doesn't mean that Britpop fans have nothing to look forward to from the band. This summer, Blur will release a massive box set called 21.
The box set, which comes out on July 30, is appropriately named; not only does the release mark 21 years since Blur released their first album, 1991's Leisure, but it contains a staggering 21 discs. These include remastered expanded editions of all seven of the bands LPs; four exclusive discs of rarities, amounting to three and a half hours of previously unheard material; three DVDs containing two live shows and exclusive rarities; a collectible seven-inch single with a live cut of the song "Superman"; and a hard-bound book, plus lengthy liner notes.
For vinyl lovers, there will also be a special box containing all seven of the remastered LPs. These albums will also be available individually on vinyl and CD; the CD versions will come with a bonus disc featuring the bonus cuts.
It's a hell of a lot to take in, so go to Blur's website to check out the sprawling tracklists of all the albums. If you've got your wallet handy, all of the packages are available to pre-order.
Of course, hardcore Blur fans will remember that they released another box set to celebrate their tenth anniversary.
