Blur

"Lonesome Street"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 23, 2015

Britpop giants Blur return with their first album since 2003's Think Tank next month, when The Magic Whip arrives. But before it hits shelves, Damon Albarn and the gang have unveiled another album cut titled "Lonesome Street."

The new track follows previously heard lead single "Go Out" and the recently unveiled "There Are Too Many of Us." It's got classic Blur trademarks stamped all over it — from stomp-along guitar rhythms to wonky, warbly sound effects to Albarn's put-on Cockney bravado and Graham Coxon's melodic background cooing, it's a lively reincarnation of the guitar-driven pop that Blur are known for doing best.

The Magic Whip is out on April 28 via Parlophone. Listen to "Lonesome Street" below.
