Blues Control to Take 'Valley Tangents' on North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 27, 2012

Ethereal psych collagists Blues Control drop their Drag City debut Valley Tangents on June 19, and the duo will celebrate the release by temporarily leaving their Lehigh Valley, PA home to rep the set on the road.

The band play a few U.S. shows shortly after the album hits retailers, but will head off on a more substantial ten-date tour that will have them playing Toronto's Parts & Labour on July 31, and Montreal's Il Motore the next night. You can see the details down below.

As previously reported, Valley Tangents is said to blend various strains of rock music, from "stadium, industrial, psych and prog (to name just a few)," and blend them into "mellow drug-mospheres."

While at the time we had to wonder exactly what was in store for our speakers, you can now download album track "Iron Pigs," a bizarre merging of synth brass, haunted player-piano runs, funky guitar leads, and what very well could be the sound of an industrial-sized pencil sharpener, over here.
