Blue Rodeo

"Mattawa"/"New Morning Sun" (video)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 28, 2013

As promised, rootsy Canadian music icons Blue Rodeo have unveiled the conceptual visual one-two punch of "Mattawa"/"New Morning Sun" to help support their new In Our Nature LP.

The full video, directed by Chris Mills, weaves between the two pieces, with the shuffling "Mattawa" featuring black and white shots of Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy hitting open highways in their respective whips, as well as footage of a guy strolling through a record store.

"New Morning Sun," meanwhile, gets the full-colour treatment via shots of a young couple kissing, as well as scenes of Blue Rodeo laying down the breezy number.

You'll find the mashed-up music video down below.

"The idea developed to try to make a video that encapsulated the feel for the ALBUM rather than just the songs. I shared this with the team, and was encouraged to 'run with it,'" Mills had previously said in a statement.

In Our Nature hits stores tomorrow (October 29) through Warner, but you can stream the entire album ahead of time over here.
