Published Aug 29, 2016Toronto's free annual Bloor Ossington Folk Festival is set to return to Christie Pits Park for its sixth straight year, and organizers behind the even have revealed the lineup for this year's edition, which sadly will be the event's last.
Taking place on September 17 and 18, this year's festival is set to feature Bart, Bidiniband, Bry Webb and the Providers, catl, the Cosmic Range, Eamon McGrath, the Heat Death (Shotgun Jimmie and José Contreras), the Highest Order, Hooded Fang, the Idaho Stop, Julie Doiron and the Wrong Guys (ft. Eamon McGrath and Mike Peters and Jaye Schwarzer of Cancer Bats), Little You Little Me, Motherhood, Steve Lambke, Wax Mannequin, the Wilderness of Manitoba and Will Kidman.
Festival organizers have also revealed that the 2016 will also be the final edition.
"As it stands, this year's festival will look very different than the one we had hoped to put on, had certain things fallen into place," they wrote in a Facebook post. "This year's festival will be scaled down to a two-day farewell party under the beer garden tent in Christie Pits Park. The tent will be open at the sides and anyone that doesn't feel like being in the garden will be able to see the musicians from around the garden and hear the music from around the park."
