Bloodbath

Resurrection Through Carnage

BY Greg PrattPublished Feb 1, 2003

Lots of hype around this one and it's there for a reason: Bloodbath have resurrected (through carnage) the sound of early '90s Swedish death, right down to the Entombed guitar sound, perhaps even improving on it. It's a retro-fest, unabashedly and unashamedly, and once past that the listener will revel in all the beautiful fuzz and scuz that was Left Hand Path all over again. These guys know what they're doing; by the way the band is made up of Opeth, Katatonia, Diabolical Masquerade and Dan Swano of Edge of Sanity/Nightingale/producing fame. So, they've been around since way back when and now they're bringing it back, no strings attached, no hidden agendas and with ear-to-ear smiles all around, no doubt. Accept it for what it is, turn it up and take a trip down memory lane, you won't be disappointed.
