Blood Orange

"Sandra's Smile" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 27, 2015

Although Dev Hynes hasn't delivered a proper Blood Orange release since 2013's Cupid Deluxe, he's offered up demos and tracks like "Delancey" and "Do You See My Skin Through the Flames?" over the course of this year, and he's back with another new song.

"Sandra's Smile" takes inspiration from the Black Lives Matter movement, with the title character serving as a nod to Sandra Bland. Hynes also makes reference to Trayvon Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton.

The full lyrics are pictured in the single's album artwork, which you can see above. In the player below, watch the video for "Sandra's Smile." It was shot in New York last week, and directed and edited by Hynes himself.
