Blood Divine

Rise Pantheon Dreams

BY Laura TaylorPublished Feb 1, 2003

There doesn't seem to be much reason for Peaceville to issue a Blood Divine "best of" album. Despite the Anathema and Cradle of Filth alumni that made up most of the band, two albums do not represent a significant career, and they've been split up for almost five years already. It's nice to gather some rare tracks together on one disc, but only two are previously unreleased (and not especially brilliant or worthwhile). Rise Pantheon Dreams' other "goodies" are two live tracks available in studio form elsewhere and "I Will Bleed," which was featured on a limited edition version of Awaken and the Japanese copies. Unless you're the most devoted, or slightly obsessive, fan of the Blood Divine, you can probably skip the rare tracks and just stick to the original albums.
