Published Jul 20, 2010Fans excited to catch the newly solo Kele on his previously reported first solo dates in North America, prepare to be disappointed on varying levels. Visa problems have forced the singer-songwriter to cancel his tour dates, and while most cities have had dates rescheduled, a number have been cancelled outright.
The tour that was supposed to begin in Chicago July 23 has now been pushed back more than a month, and will start in Washington, D.C., on September 2. Shows will continue from then for most of the cities originally on the tour, but fans in Philadelphia, Ottawa, Detroit and Milwaukee have all had the Kele tour rug pulled out from under them.
Toronto's show remains at the Mod Club, but has been pushed to September 3, while Kele's new date in Montreal means he will no longer play Osheaga. Of course, that could be a good thing for fans who wanted to see him in a more intimate venue; he'll now play the Belmont on September 4.
Kele's complete touring schedule, including cancelled, rescheduled and European dates, is below. You can also check out Exclaim!'s recent Questionnaire with Kele here.
