Bloc Party's Kele Okereke Preps Lyric Book

UK quartet Bloc Party returned to the scene last year with Four, which brought both the group's dance-minded indie rock and singer Kele Okereke's words back to the forefront. The spotlight will be fixed on the latter, though, for a new celebratory book titled The Lyrics of Kele Okereke.

The book, which the Lyric Book Company issues over in the UK on March 4, contains the lyrics from all four of Bloc Party's albums, as well as Okereke's solo efforts The Boxer and The Hunter. All told, the tome contains 78 songs of the writer's "irresistibly idiosyncratic" words that, according to the press release, combine elements of "classical literature, rave culture, religious texts and East London street slang."

"It is quite an honour to see all these lyrics in their correct forms bound in such an exquisite book. It's truly humbling and I hope these words move the readers as much as I have been moved writing them," Okereke said in a statement.
