Experimental folk outfit Blitzen Trapper released their aptly titled seventh album VII last year, but have now offered up some new listening with a cover of a Ryan Adams classic.
As part of forthcoming tribute album While No One Was Looking: Toasting 20 Years of Bloodshot Records, the band have unveiled their version of Adams' "To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High)" from 2000's Heartbreaker.
The Portland-based band retain the song's jangly stomp and wailing harmonica, but also manage to deliver some added twang. The LP homage to Bloodshot Records arrives on November 18, and you can hear Blitzen Trapper's take on "To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High)" below.
