Blink-182's Tom DeLonge Writes Kids Christmas Book

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 20, 2013

While Blink-182 initially made a career out of juvenile humour (think Take Off Your Pants And Jacket), guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge has announced his next project will be a kid-geared Christmas book.

The punk rocker's The Lonely Astronaut on Christmas Eve is described in a press release as a "wistful story for the young and the young-at-heart alike," which tells the "tale of a rocketeer alone on the moon on a cold Christmas night, and the gift he receives from a few unexpected (and extraterrestrial) friends."

While we can only imagine they'll be disappointed, old-school Blink fans may be praying that one of said ET's comes from — wait for it — Uranus.

If you happen to have a premium membership to DeLonge's Angels and Airwaves' website, you can check out a three-page preview of the story. If you don't, you can at least see the book cover, illustrated by Mike Henry, up above.

Pre-orders for the book go for sale next Monday (November 25), with a limited-edition package including a hardcover pressing of the book, a digital copy, a "clear acrylic etched ornament" and a limited-edition T-shirt.
