Under the Heptagram

If you thought the Entombed worship of late focused too much on the sound of their first two albums, Blind to Faith have something for you. That something comes in the form of three-track EP Under the Heptagram, and the title track certainly owes a debt to Entombed's death'n'roll style. The "Intro" preceding it barely gives an indication of the catchiness to follow. Instead, it causes you to teeter on the edge of a precipice as the crushing pulses increasingly push you towards your demise. The last of the musical trinity does a good job bringing the two sounds together, with a crushing midsection dissecting the more energetic parts. Although Blind to Faith feature members of Rise and Fall, Reproach and Insult, none of the above are indicative of their sound. Instead, Under the Heptagram is what would happen if Kvelertak decided their punky, metal-influenced rock wasn't dark enough and hired Thomas Gabriel Fischer (Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Triptykon) to bring their sound closer to the abyss.
