Blender Magazine, "the ultimate guide to all things awesome about music," has taken a bold step and compiled what it feels are "The 100 Greatest Indie Rock Albums Ever" for its December issue (the one with Jay-Z on the cover). Of course, these sorts of all-knowing lists always have tons of abuse thrown at them, but to be honest, the editors have done a fair job. That said, anyone could have a field day pointing out obvious overlooked albums they've missed (no Last Splash by the Breeders, WTF?!), newcomers they've foolishly included (Feist? Art Brut? Rilo Kiley at #50?!?), major label records (Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Fever To Tell), and albums that just aren't "indie" or "rock" (De La Soul's 3 Feet High And Rising). But really, I'm quite impressed.
