Black Tambourine Reveal Details of Ramones Covers EP
Given that Black Tambourine's 2009 complete anthology contained just 16 tracks (several of which were demos and rare cover tunes), any word about new material from the celebrated indie pop troupe is big news. Fans will be thrilled to learn, then, that the group's recent Kickstarter campaign was a success and they will indeed be releasing that Ramones cover EP.

The double seven-inch set is called OneTwoThreeFour, and it will come out on May 15 through Black Tambourine guitarist Michael Schulman's Slumberland label. For those without a record player, it will also be available digitally. A press release notes that the songs were recorded between Maryland and London, UK (where singer Pam Berry lives).

See the album cover above and the tracklist below. Jenny Robbins from Honeymoon Diary appears on "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" and "I Want You Around," while the latter tune also features Dee Dee (Dum Dum Girls), Linda Smith and Rose Melberg (Tiger Trap, the Softies, Brave Irene). The group of background singers has been dubbed the 'Rinettes.

Scroll past the tracklist to hear the harmony-laden "I Want You Around." Shit-ton of guitar fuzz? Check. Dreamy melodies? Lots of reverb? Grimy production values? Check. Check. Check. Welcome back, Black Tambourine.

This EP coincides with the Chickfactor anniversary shows, which feature Black Tambourine.
