Black Sabbath Pull Out of Farewell Appearance at Ozzfest Japan
Heavy metal icons Black Sabbath are no longer on the lineup for Ozzfest Japan, with the slot now being billed as a solo performance from Ozzy Osbourne and as-yet-unannounced "friends."

A statement from the band to PRP regarding the lineup edit, reads: "Despite previous reports, Black Sabbath will not appear on this year's Ozzfest Japan, the show will instead feature the festival's namesake, Ozzy Osbourne (and friends)."

Last month, Sharon Osbourne released a video announcing that Ozzfest would return to Japan on November 21 and 22, ending with the message: "And this will be Black Sabbath's farewell."

Rumours quickly circulated that this would serve as the band's final show, despite previous reports that the band would be recording and touring a new album in 2015.

If plans for the original farewell campaign continue accordingly, the new — and final — album will feature Ozzy, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler, though the band remain on the outs with drummer Bill Ward.
