Black Milk Shares 'If There's a Hell Below' Cover Art and Release Date

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 7, 2014

After unveiling his "Now or Never" collaboration with BADBADNOTGOOD just a couple of hours ago, Detroit rapper/producer Black Milk is putting the focus back on himself by unveiling the details behind his upcoming solo LP, If There's a Hell Below.

Black Milk has confirmed that the album drops in full October 28 through his own Computer Ugly imprint. A fairly frightening piece of artwork featuring the insane gaze of an apparently angered creature acts as the cover art, which you can see up above.

Though already we've heard album tracks "What It's Worth" and "Detroit's New Dance Show," a full tracklisting has yet to be revealed behind the LP. According to the rapper, though, it's pretty good.

"I'm never one to say which album of mine is the best, that's for the fans to decide," he explained in a statement, "but at this point I feel like I'm making the best music of my career on a creative level and on a technical level. I think you'll hear that in this new album."

Though it follows 2013's No Poison, No Paradise, Black Milk said it isn't "as dark" as that LP, but If There's a Hell Below "acts as a continuation" of his previous set's themes. "I'm still giving you a glimpse of different struggles for the point of view of an inner city youth but rhyming in different patterns over instrumentals that sound different from anything I've done in the past."

Black Milk has a handful of North American DJ sets appearances coming up, as well as a series of full-band performances that have him once again backed up by the Nat Turner band. You'll find the details down below.
