Published Aug 05, 2010Apparently, metal isn't the only genre that can host a kick-ass cruise. The inaugural Bruise Cruise Festival has announced it will feature onboard performances from lo-fi garage rock types like the Black Lips, Vivian Girls, Strange Boys, Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Quintron and Miss Pussycat, Turbo Fruits, and New York DJ Jonathan Toubin.
The cruise sets off on February 25, 2011, in Miami, and will travel to the Bahamas and back, returning to Miami on February 28. The cruise, according to the website, includes "gambling, resort-style pools, water parks, spas, fine dining and more."
The price of a cabin, which houses two attendees, costs only $500, plus $115 in gratuities per guest, meaning that for $365 each, you and a friend are covered for pretty much everything, as the site promises in all-caps: "ACCOMMODATIONS (LODGING), ALL US GOVERNMENT FEES & CRUISE LINE GRATUITIES, ALL MEALS, BRUISE CRUISE CONCERTS & ENTERTAINMENT, 'LIFE ON BOARD' ATTRACTIONS (CASINO, HOT TUBS, RESORT POOL & SPA, FINE DINING, ARCADE & MORE), NASSAU BAHAMAS ISLAND PARTY, GIFT BAGS, OPEN BAR HOURS, & OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON."
It also includes tips!
Cabin reservations are available now, here. The cruise only hosts 400 people, so you'd better move fast.
Thanks to New York Magazine for pointing this one out.
