Published Jun 13, 2013It's been two years since twangy garage rock group Black Lips released their Arabia Mountain LP. Rather than hang up the towel, however, they've finally announced plans for a seventh album.
Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, bassist Jared Swilley said that the band is traveling to Nashville, where they plan to work on some new tracks with the Black Keys' Patrick Carney serving as producer.
He also said that the new album will be a mix of "club bangers and southern rock albums," adding that Bradford Cox of Deerhunter will likely contribute to the album "in some capacity."
The band are also gearing up to release their tour documentary Kids Like You and Me. The film, which was directed by Bill Cody, follows the band on a recent tour through the Middle East. It will screen in select cities before finding a DVD release.
