Published Aug 31, 2010Mopey San Diego, CA indie rockers the Black Heart Procession released their sixth album, aptly titled Six, late last year. On that record, they returned to their bleak roots, bringing back the dark imagery and chilling slow jams. Hopefully, that lovable darkness will continue when they release their new EP this fall.
Titled Blood Bunny/Black Rabbit, the eight-song mini-album features three new BHP songs alongside remixes from Mr. Tube, Jamuel Saxon, Eluvium and, most notable, Lee "Scratch" Perry. The EP runs 40 minutes, ten of which are made up of Eluvium's orchestral reworking of "Drugs."
Temporary Residence will release Blood Bunny/Black Rabbit on October 12. In addition to the new EP, Black Heart Procession will embark on a lengthy North American tour with labelmates the Books. The trek includes Canadian stops in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver.
Blood Bunny/Black Rabbit:
1. "Blank Page"
2. "The Orchid"
3. "Silence" (remix by Mr. Tube)
5. "Freeze' (remix by Lee "Scratch" Perry)
6. "Heaven Below" (remix by Mr. Tube)
7. "Drugs" (remix by Eluvium)
8. "Drugs" (remix by Jamuel Saxon)
