Billy Corgan Unfazed After Onstage Collapse

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan took a tumble Wednesday night (July 21) after blacking out onstage during a performance in Tampa, FL. Corgan stood up immediately to complete the performance without pause, and admitted he woke the next morning with nothing but a bruise to remember it by.

"...For those that saw me fall last night during 'Bullet,' that wasn't a stage move or clumsiness, that was me blacking out and wiping out," he admitted via his Twitter account the next morning. "I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet, but I can tell you I've got quite a good bruise + am moving slow."

The band were midway through "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" on Wednesday when Corgan suddenly fell backwards into his amps, then shot straight back to his feet. You can watch the fall in the YouTube video below.

The show went on uninterrupted, and the current Pumpkins tour will do the same. Corgan and co. have already played shows since, and made this post today (July 23) via Twitter:

"Umm, why is my phone lighting up today??? I appreciate the attention but I'm totally fine. And Knoxville, we will rock you tonight full tilt!"

Enough said, we guess. The band are currently still touring their Teargarden by Kaleidyscope album. All dates are at the band's official site here.
