Corgan announced the news on Twitter, explaining that details will be confirmed in due course. Evidently he's not leaving the professional wrestling federation on bitter terms, since he extended a thank-you to the wrestling talent he has worked with.
For those interested, I've left RESISTANCE PRO WRESTLING, officially and unofficially. Details to follow in the coming weeks— Billy Corgan (@Billy) November 15, 2014
Corgan co-founded Resistance Pro Wrestling in 2011. Earlier this year, his role in the company as creative director was set to be the focus of an AMC reality show, but this plan was later axed.
And though this is by no means a way to reach them, I'd like to thank the talented wrestlers, managers, and valets I've worked with— Billy Corgan (@Billy) November 15, 2014
The future of Resistance Pro is unclear, but it has an event coming up in January.
Meanwhile, Smashing Pumpkins will release Monuments to an Elegy on December 9 via BMG.
