Billie Eilish Working on New Music in Quarantine

"It was like exactly what I needed to say when we wrote it"

Billie Eilish and brother Finneas have been making the most of their time in coronavirus lockdown by writing and recording new material in the studio.

Appearing in a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the artist revealed that in addition to fostering puppies and hanging out with her dad in lockdown, she and her brother have also been hard at work on new music. As of Saturday (May 9), the brother-sister pop masterminds have apparently finished an entirely new song.

"We've been in the 'stu,' which just means Finneas' basement, basically. We actually, we wrote a whole song in its entirety — an entire song, which is kind of rare for us," the artist shared. "I really love it. It was like exactly what I needed to say when we wrote it."

When the new material will see release remains unclear, and much of the details on this new song remain a mystery.  Eilish's debut record, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, arrived in 2019.

Back in March, the singer was forced to postpone her "Where Do We Go?" North American tour, which included one stop in Canada, a solo night at Vancouver's Rogers Arena in mid-April. So far, the tour has not been rescheduled.
