Big Wreck co-founder and guitarist Brian Doherty sadly succumbed to cancer last week. Now Big Wreck have announced a special tribute show to honour their fallen bandmate.
The concert will take place in Doherty's hometown of Sarnia, ON, on August 9. For every ticket sold, $2 will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The concert will come as part of the Sarnia Bluewater BorderFest Music Festival, and you can learn more about the event, as well as ticketing, over here.
As previously reported, Doherty lost his battle with cancer on June 5. He was 51.
Previously, Big Wreck shared the following statement:
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our brother, Brian Doherty, passed away peacefully yesterday after a prolonged and brave struggle with cancer. Brian started Big Wreck with Ian in their dorm in Boston and his passing is a profound loss to us all. Our deepest condolences go out to Brian's family. He was a good soul who will be missed by all who knew him personally or through the beautiful music he performed.
