Big Little Lions

"Big Mistake" (lyric video)

Based between Vancouver and Cincinnati, folk duo Big Little Lions released their latest album Alive and Well last month and have since been reunited on tour. Before their next leg of live shows kicks off, the pair have unveiled a brand new lyric video for "Big Mistake."

Like most of their songs, the geographical separation led to writing the track over back-and-forth emails between bandmates Helen Austin and Paul Otten — but the inspiration behind "Big Mistake" remains rooted in the current political climate south of the border. And while international and domestic tensions may be running high, the two-piece managed to stay optimistic in their latest musical offering.

"Although this is one of our jolliest songs, the lyrics are a wistful longing for waking up one day to find the level of divisiveness we now have has disappeared and we all understand each other," the band tell Exclaim! "It's dealing with the craziness of the world in a positive way while trying to understand how to relate to each other."
