Vancouver's own Big John Bates stopped by the Cardinal Skate Co. shop to perform a couple of songs for the Exclaim! TV crew. Today the crew brings you the band's performance of "Taste the Barrel" from the yet-to-be released album Battered Bones, which is due out in early 2012.
"Taste the Barrel" sees Big John stepping back from vocal duties while double-bass player Brandy Bones takes the lead — singing a with a blend of Western and blues influences to create the sort of sound that can be expected on the forthcoming Battered Bones.
