Big Boi and Phantogram Make Live Debut as Big Grams

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 31, 2015

Following some recent online teasing, Big Boi has formally announced a new project with the members of Phantogram. Given the portmanteau of Big Grams, the outfit made their live debut at Los Angeles' Epic Fest over the weekend.

The Saturday (August 29) performance found the trio of Big Boi, Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter treating the festival crowd to a three-song set. According to Billboard, Big Boi told the crowd that these were tracks from a forthcoming debut LP. Little else about the album is known at present.

Prior to the show, a few promo pics of the three popped up online, including on Big Boi's Instagram.

The full-on Big Grams collaboration follows a few tracks the members had worked on together for Big Boi's 2012 LP, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumours. Phantogram had appeared on that album's "Objectum Sexuality", "CPU" and "Lines."

Until more news about the forthcoming Big Grams debut is made available, you can check out a few fan-shot vids from the act's weekend performance down below.

Of course, this isn't the only collaborative work Phantogram unveiled over the weekend. The duo are featured on Miley Cyrus' new surprise release, Miley & Her Dead Petz LP
