Following their father's breast cancer diagnosis, Beyoncé and Solange have both been tested for the BRCA2 gene, a mutation that is linked to a significant risk in an individual's potential to develop breast and ovarian cancer. The results are in — and neither sister carries the gene.

The news comes today from the singers' father, Mathew Knowles via TMZ. This past summer, Knowles underwent treatment for his diagnosis after he discovered blood on his clothing and bedding.

Knowles is reportedly now in recovery but still adamantly requested that his family get tested, as genetics play a significant role in the likelihood of developing the condition.

Knowles has taken action to live a healthier lifestyle since his diagnosis; he has since cut back on alcohol and has begun regular exercise. He plans to remove his affected breast early next year.
